Carrots in tubs
« on: March 13, 2012, 12:39 »
Is it too early to sow some carrots in a tub or would it be better to leave a few weeks yet?
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

What does it say on the back of the seed packet?

Some varieties will be fine now.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I've planted some rainbow mix and early nantes in buckets. They are in the poltytunnel for now.

Depends on the weather forecast for the fleece. I've put in the short stubby Parmex but will fleece certainly if this warm spell disappears. You have to play it by weather forecast I fear.

We've sown ours into pots and will net them when it gets dodgy.

Also, they're a bit higher (about 2 ft) off the ground, but we'll still fence round them to confuse the dreadd fly...
