Earwigs in my corn
« on: August 02, 2011, 19:49 »
I'm new to vegatable gardening (and this site) but have really been enjoying the fruits of my labour, and worried about my plants more than the wife and kids sometimes.

One veg I have tried is baby sweetcorn, which has been steadily growing since planting and now is showing signs of fruit from the centre of the plant.  Checking the plants out tonight I noticed earwigs among the corn.  Is this a problem and if so how do I deal with it?

Any advice would be really welcome.

Cheers
Mick

Mick67, welcome to the site.  I've moved your post over to GYO but I now notice you've posted an identical message there.  I've therefore locked this thread, but please do feel free to pop back to the Welcome forum to introduce yourself properly and get a proper welcome back.  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
