I planted my Raspberry canes 2 months ago now and there has been no signs of any growth at all.

I dug them up a few weeks ago with the intention of getting rid of them, however discovered some healthy roots. So, I scraped back some bark with a fingernail to find some green.

Replanted them in good compost and have watered well since - still no growth!

Should I replace them - an if I do is this still an OK time of year to plant out raspberry canes (or indeed any other sort of soft fruit)?

Ta.

Are the they a summer variety? I planted two kinds last year and the summer ones did exactly the same as yours -- this year they have masses of growth on to fruit next year.

The late ones were brilliant last year and then are growing on well for the late crop this year too.

Don't give up on them  :D

I also have some new canes which have done nothing this year - Glen Ample. I was worried because the Glen Lyon put in at the same time at least have a few leaves.

But thanks for the reassurance - I'll leave them and see what happens!

Same here... I planted 4 different varieties... one now quite bushy, two with a little growth and one with nothing. I was tempted to take out the seemingly dead one but after reading this thread I might leave it for a bit.

Mine did virtually nothing for the first year and I was also close to getting rid.

Two years on and we can't pick all the the fruit, some will just have to go to waste. The fruit is literally pouring off them this year.
