hi, what is the best alternative to manure,i cant get horse manure or any sort ,was thinking of buying bagged alternative,any suggestions please,

Not sure what part of Essex you are but im not far from the tunnel really (20MINS) maybe you can pop down and get a load of bags.

Could you get some seaweed thats really good for the soil.I've also in the last few years taken to walking along the lanes with a sickle and wheelbarrow and chopping as much greenery as possible and carting it back home to make a large amount of compost.

If you don't mind people giving you some funny looks it's a viable proposition.I also do the same in the autumn to collect leaves.If you're bothered by funny looks wear a disguise o'r get up really early
