prickly rash???
« on: June 12, 2011, 12:55 »
just been moving a few plants around in the greenhouse to give them some space each now i have put some in the cold frame and the main ones i have touched are cucumbers gherkins and pumpkins.
on my way home as i was rained off the lotty (sorry drought sufferers) i noticed a rash that looked like nettle stings on my arm and some were stinging a little.
do any of the above do this? i have taken an antihistamine and its nearly gone now.
just for future movements so i know what i am up against.

The plants you refer to don't have particularly irritating properties (unlike something like Euphobia) but they are "hairy" so will cause fine scratches on tender skin.  I often get a little skin irritation when removing courgettes - it shouldn't last more than an hour or so
