Just checked, still no snowdrops or daffs but two days ago there were quite a few crocuses showing. :) Its funny though, sometimes its the snowdrops or the daffs that are first. This year in our case the crocuses are taking the lead.

The first ones showing in our garden were tulips, also odd. No sign of any crocus.

I have 1 solitary snowdrop...........hopefully the rest will be later, and they have not died

I have bluebells and narcissi (not daffs) and they flower later so I'm not expecting them for a good while yet  ;)

Our tulip numbers diminish every year, I think they must be the bulbs which are tastiest to the mice.  >:(

I grow my tulips in pots (same as Carol Kline) safely under a bit of chicken wire until they are up and growing well  ;)

Tulips up first, closely followed by snowdrops; smartest bulb award goes to the daffs (still no sign of them!)  :)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I've got the wild type crocus out but the bigger ones are still just showing leaves.  Snowdrops are budded and showing just a flash of white, so hopefully they will be out soon and I've got some spring cyclamen just showing colour as well.

I love spring bulbs, especially snowdrops.  They are the first things that spout back to life after the worst of the winter and always make me feel spring is on the way no matter how bad the weather is  :D  :D  :D

our witch hazel looks and smells fantastic, maybe not exactly a spring bulb, but enough to lift the heart - we're going inthe right direction!

Be carefull to collect all the dead foliage and flowers from the tulips as they can leave a virus that kills/weakens the bulbs(unless they are the wild tulips which aren't affected).Unless you do so they will diminish every year and won't be able to plant new bulbs there for squillions of years. It might not be mice

Thanks for the tip, but as we are surrounded by fields, I think it is mice..... or voles. :)
