frozen cauliflower
« on: December 03, 2010, 12:06 »
I have 4 caulis left in my raised beds and I looked out of the window this morning to see that overnight they have turned yellow, (yesterday they were a lovely white)  I went out to have  alook and they are frozen solid.

Does any one know if they will recover when the spring arrives?

thanks

If they had a good cover of leaves surrounding the flower itself they would have been ok.  By teh sounds of it yours are fairly open in habit so they have been frosted fairly easily.

They will 'rot' fairly quickly - i would harvest them as soon as they defrost.....blanch and freezing them would be a solution?
its nice to be important, but it more important to be nice......
