Courgettes in a pot
« on: August 02, 2010, 17:09 »
Hi I have grown courgettes for the first time in a pot they are Midnight F1 speciffically for container growing. All went well with the first courgette being perfect and since then its been a distaster. All th leaves have turned yellow and teh courgettes have soft and mouldy looking and are jsut not doing anything exceprt rotting. Can anyone give me soem advice on what the problem might be. I am really new at this game so am pretty clueless.
Thanks Alison

My 1st year growing and have some courgettes 3 in the ground and 1 in a pot, the 1 in the pot gave me a beautiful 1st courgette and then the same as yours happened.... was advised to feed it and now I give it liquid feed once a week and at the moment got 3 beauties growing on it and more green leaves.
Give it a feed and see what happens
I came I saw I grew my own veg

would agree to feed with tomatoe food and also putting a bit of straw under the courgettes can help prevent rot
3 dogs, 8 chickens, 4 rabbits 2 guinea pigs, 10 quail, 2 fish and a demanding daughter who has gone to uni and left me with 29 animals to care for!!=)

Courgettes? Not too wet and not too dry, don't let them dry out though, no draughts and out of the wind, not in full sunlight and make sure that the roots have enough room. The roots are very big and spread a long way.
