Potato Sprang
« on: July 03, 2010, 09:29 »
Hi All,
Can any one tell me if it is safe to compost the peelings and cut off bits from potato's that have what I believe is called sprang. I bought a large bage off of a road side stall and there is alot of grey patches under the skin after you peel them.
regards,
Chris

Sprang is usually evident by discolouration in the flesh, not under the skin, so it may not be that.

However, that and a number of other things it could be, can be caused by virues and I'd never compost anything so suspect.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
