Am I okay to ask the following question on this page? What would be considered the top ten hardy perennials in the UK? Any Ideas? :D
I wouldn't say I was the best manager for the job,but I would say I'm in the top one! (Brian Clough)

Right place to ask, but not easy to answer!

(Trees are mostly hardy perennials but so are periwinkles!)  ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I have found this link

http://www.blog.floraselect.co.uk/telegraph-and-rhs-join-forces-to-highlight-top-ten-perennials/92/

but at the end of the day I think the top 10 favourites will vary from person to person. We have moved around quite a bit but the following plants always seem to turn up when we are planning a garden:

hosta, geranium Johnsons Blue (and a few other geraniums as well), alchemilla mollis (good filler), astrantia, heuchara, bugle, hellebore, aster and japanese anemone

....... and then there are the ten favourite shrubs!!!
