Am I okay to ask the following question on this page? What would be considered the top ten hardy perennials in the UK? Any Ideas?

Right place to ask, but not easy to answer!
(Trees are mostly hardy perennials but so are periwinkles!)

What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I have found this link
http://www.blog.floraselect.co.uk/telegraph-and-rhs-join-forces-to-highlight-top-ten-perennials/92/
but at the end of the day I think the top 10 favourites will vary from person to person. We have moved around quite a bit but the following plants always seem to turn up when we are planning a garden:
hosta, geranium Johnsons Blue (and a few other geraniums as well), alchemilla mollis (good filler), astrantia, heuchara, bugle, hellebore, aster and japanese anemone
....... and then there are the ten favourite shrubs!!!
