My pumpkin/marrow crosses, although being useless for Jack O' Lanterns or for eating marrows, had very thick, hard orange skins and would save until the following April and were much loved by our hens when split in 2 and hung up in the run.

There's no guarantee what you'll get. I gave two plants to a neighbour & he got the produce as seen in the photo. From the plants I kept, one produced striped marrows, the other dark green ones.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

One of my fellow allotment gardeners just phoned to say she's got hold of 10 kosher pumpkin plants (kosher in the sense of not being half pumpkin and half courgette, as I mentioned in the post a couple of days ago), so that's a great piece of news.
