Pepper pollination
« on: June 12, 2010, 20:09 »
One of my sweet pepper plants has the first flower; all the other buds, and the ones on other pepper plants, look a long way before they'll flower. Does this mean that this won't set? Or can I hand pollinate it with the pollen from some of my jalapenos peppers which are flowering now? I know it seems silly to worry about just one flower, but I have very few plants and I know that they need a long time to mature, so every one of them counts...

tulsalady, that's exactly what's worrying me: of my 4 sweet pepper plants, I still have one flower, several small buds, and no pepper yet whatsover!!! If my plants were at the same stage as yours, I would be very happy!

Relax Oldcow!!   (Yours has got to be about the most embarrassing username on here!  :nowink:)

You've got 4 healthy plants about to flower; what more do you want? (Tulsalady probably started hers before you did!)  ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
