To a chook food is food... specially if it's wheat!

Mine dabble for wheat as well, like when I put wheat in their bowl, then it chucks it down during the day I end up with 2 ins of water in the bowl and no wheat!

Maybe you need to make the water a bit deeper... surely the chooks won't want to get their knickers wet!

we have 3 asbo chucks, if we leave the kitchen door open, they run into the kitchen, and i mean really run, and try to get into the dogs food bowl.
yesterday as i was having breakfast, Val let them out, they beat her to the kitchen so i lifted the dogs bowl onto the table, at which they flew onto the table to get into it.

we have only had them 3 weeks !!!! i hate to think what they will be doing in 3 months.

they are totally fearless, Val had a fresh fruit salad in a glass bowl, they were jumping up at the bowl trying to eat it, pecking at the bowl.

worst of all they have no fear of the cooker, they just look at themselves in the glass door, it is not natural......

Mine went totally doolally for left over stuffing at Christmas.  OH looked on bemused then asked if I was getting them ready stuffed as they were pointedly ignoring his stern lectures about lack of eggs   ::)   Mine are bantams and tend to have a winter break from laying.......and a moulting break.............and a let's go broody break......... ::)
