Hi

Accidentally ended up mixing my Maris Piper maincrop with the Pentland Javlin earlies.  I can't tell them apart now.  First of all is there a way of telling them apart?  And secondly if I just plant them all together is it just a matter of waiting for the first to wilt to see which are the earlies?

You could - but it would be a pig trying to lift the earlies from among the main crop.  Odd ones maybe if you make a mistake in the sorting - but I would at least try.

You will find pics of the two sorts of seed pots here.  I find that the PJ seed pots are smaller than the Maris and the chits on the Maris tend to be bigger and more purple in colour.  Does that help?

in regards to what madcat said , you may be wise to plant them a little wider than normal incase you need to lift some inbetween rows
