Bolting Kale
« on: April 20, 2010, 14:27 »
I would like to thank whoever it was who nearly told me off for taking the flower heads off my kale and chucking them. I had never considered eating them but the result of snapping the heads off is that, like psb, you get lots more sprouting. I picked these today and we had them with Mushroom en Croute and creamy mash (with lots of pepper cos they're a bit sweet now!) Delicious. :tongue2:

Warning to those who have not cooked them before though.....don't use too much stalk and only sweat in a damp pan with a knob of butter for a couple of mins...perfect. YUM

Now All I need is for psb to get going, it's looking hopeful for at least a few feeds...AT LAST!
