Can someone please tell me if ok to leave my sweetcorn roots in like peas?

Tried pulling one out today its well in!

They're pretty tough things to leave in the ground.  Pull em out and have a look at the roots: you may get a surprise.

There's a few differences between peas & sweetcorn roots.

Here's two.

Peas have nitrogen bearing nodules attached to their roots, which are beneficial to the soil.

Sweet corn doesn't.

Get digging.

Pull the whole plant up, shake off the soil and put it through the shredder - very satisfying.
