Just been reading advice on disinfecting a run with Jeyes.  The floor of my run is soil covered with wood chippings which I rake over twice daily.  The run is covered and doesnt get wet.  How would I treat it with Jeyes?  Do I just pour the diluted Jeyes over the chippings?  Does it then have to be completely dry before I let the girls in again?  Sorry if this sounds dumb but am fairly new to chick keeping and still in the learning curve.

a garden sprayer would be better with something like vikrons, a bacterial disinfectant, or stalosan f, which is a powder and can be sprinkled on.
with jeyes fluid, how about a watering can with a fine rose, diluted as per the can for disinfectant use, it will need a little time before the chucks are allowed back

Sounds like stalosan would be better. I've used virkon and I think it needs a bit of time before you can let them back on.
I think stalosan is safe for them but someone else can confirm.

I moved the coop yesterday, and before I could get the straw down where I'd sprinkled Stalosan F hen Bridget was pecking away at it ... she seems fine today?!
