That's such a shame Colliebird :(

Will you be getting a friend for the Greylag ? He/she really needs one of it's own kind.

I keep my geese separate from the hens as they will fight them, even Crumb does and she was brought up with the hens :(

I would really like a young Greylag, but don't know where to find one  :(

What geese does gaz have? If he doesn't have greylags he may know somebody who does. Where did you get your other one from? Joyxx

Obviously it may be tricky to get a Greylag but you could find something that's similar in size :)

I have a canada goose who is a lot smaller than my others but apart from a breeding times there hasn't been a problem :)
Maybe you have a gander greylag ? Which may be the reason for your other gander attacking it :)

Sarah :)

It is the goose and the gander attacking her, and the goose is the most vicious.
I've put her with the hens and she appears to be quite happy, and the hens are leaving her alone.  She goes in the hen house when the hens are roosting and has found a
corner for herself.  The Greylag is only about 5 months old, and his/her whimpering is so sad to hear.
I would like the big goose and gander gone as quickly as possible and have put ads on different forums.
The person who gave me the Greylag found her when she was about a day old and had "lost" her family.  it would have died or been run over if he hadn't saved her.
I'll ask Gaz, but I'd want a very young one.  :(

You may find once the greylag reaches sexual maturity (within the next few months, geese are fully grown at 6 months ) that she will also attack the chickens :( All mine do and they have been hand reared even the canada goose who I got at 2 days old :)
They can kill the chickens 'cause they don't like letting go :)

There is video of me with my geese on here somewhere, the things I can do with Crumb I wouldn't advise anyone try with a goose she is a huge softie but even she will still attack chickens, they see them as a threat any goose will do the same :(
