Squirrel Vs Plum tree
« on: June 01, 2009, 21:59 »
Over the last few days i've spotted a squirrel in the garden ,paying particular attention to my plum tree. There doesn'y seem to be any damage to the fruit (yet).I dont really want to "get rid" of the squirrel unless i have to , as my girls enjoy watching it run along the fence&jumping all over the place, while the dog goes potty. Is there any chance that it'll leave the fruit alone,or is it just waiting until they ripen before stripping the lot?

  Cheers

Squirrels do seem to know which food to eat that will cause the most upset.  My parents had a Walnut Tree in their garden and the squirrel would bypass all the other distractions (including bird table loaded with goodies) to pinch my Dad's nuts..... no wonder he got so annoyed.

You can either try offering an alternative menu but risk more of Tuffties friends and family joining him or hope for the best.... re your plumbs.

I've always thought the entertainment they give is worth the pinched nuts!!!
