Spotted on weekend some red/orage stuff (technical term) on my lovely garlic, I pressume it is rust, what can I do?

Sounds like rust, but it's very early. There's not much you can do, but don't worry you should still get a decent crop.

Don't recommend you try Hammerite to correct this rust

my Garlic was covered last year but it didnt appear to bother it

Smear Vaseline over it to stop the spores from spreading.
