burnt garden waste ashes

i burnt a lot of garden waste yesterday just all brambles and pruned clippings.
would the ashes be any good for the soil if i dug & mixed it in.
or any good for compost bin.

i'd put them in the compost bin, we always put the wood ash from the chiminea in there :)
