Well  ..... here goes!

On the plot, I've put all the potatoes in because it's bound to rain soon, and I'll not be able to plant them in a quagmire! These are International Kidney (aka Jersey Royal), Duke of York and Homeguard. Have also put some Jerusalem artichoke tubers in.
The onions are well away - Japanese last autumn, Sturgon this spring. Planted a few peas, in a semi circle cos I couldn't get the wire to go straight! And we're reaping the benefits of cauliflower plants put in last summer, although they're producing sproutings rather than nice big caulis. Tasty though!

In the Woollies plastic greenhouses we have lots of seeds beginning to peep - an assortment of brassicas, leeks, runner beans ....... the sweetcorn is sprouting nicely
and lots of flower seeds to brighten up the lottie. We bought some bargain plum tomato plants, there were five instead of four and all are doing well.

In our back garden, I've risked planting some sugar snap peas and some runner beans, and have rather leggy sweetpeas to keep them company up the canes.  Oh and have planted four Vivaldi potatoes by the fence - so hoping for a musical summer!

Happy growing, everyone.
Still glowing, still growing, still going strong!

My first potato was spotted coming up today. I can't remember what sort it is. Probably Charlotte.

My potatos were up today :) so I dragged some of the soil over them, earthing up or something.

My peas are up too and I put some short canes in the ground for them to soon grab onto. There's loads so I need to protect them and will be doing so tomorrow.

Onion sets seem ok, just starting to grow.

Loads of bindweed all over the plot! Wish I could eat bindweed:(
first there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is

Flipping heck! Everyones on the boil and i only have sunflowers, runners and potatoes in the ground. I need to catch up methinks.

What do people think of planting sweet peas, runners and pea's together?

I do runners and sweetpeas, and once the beans really get going the SPs get swamped.
i think the same thing would happen to the peas, unless they're the short early ones which would crop before things got crazy.

This is only my second year and I only have a corner of the garden plus pots but I am trying onions and garlic which went in november, runner beans, leeks, courgettes, broccoli, parsnips, asparagus, lettuce and salad potatoes, a couple of pumpkins for the kids for halloween, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and loganberries and in my little green house thing aubergine, sweet peppers and cucumber (these are on windowsills at the moment).

Anyone else besides me think I've bitten off more than I can chew lol!!
Attempting to grow things in my garden for the first time ever!

I think I'll jump on the bandwagon here, not as a herculean effort of planting as DD though????

Allotment

4x8' rows spuds, 1 1st early & 3 of main crop
about 150 onions, setton and red baron
4x3' rows of spring onions, reds and white
2x3' rows of lettuce mixed bag
2x3' rows of beetroot
1x3' row spinach

Garden

40ish tomatos of 6 varieties
150ish mix of cornflower, marigolds, statice and linum, (cheating adding the flowers in the list)
4 cucumber
10 chilli
3 from 8 pumkin or corgette, can't remember which ones are which??
1 long planter of carrots
1 tray of peas
and finally about 24 broard beans.

Lots more seeds to straight in the allotment as well

Now your grips too strong
You can't catch love with a net or a gun
Gotta keep faith that your path will change
Gotta keep faith that your luck will change tomorrow
'James'
