I planted tater's before my Comfrey was big enough to cut.
Yesterday I cut  Comfrey leaves and put them over the potato shoots as a mulch, 8) weather permitting I will earth them later this week  :)
The answer lies in what you put into the ground!

Hiya,
I've read this in a couple of veg books and they both state to let the comfrey leaves dry and wilt slightly before placing them under your tat seed potatoes upon planting, |I've done it with mine, can't hurt, happy growing
