Well Bob, I hope you got enough advice to go on with?  Please let us know when you get your 1st eggie.  And if you do incur any probs you only have to ask and all will help you as much as they can.  Good luck with your girls and I bet before long you will be getting more to add to others.  ;)

Thank you all :-). We'll see how we get on! If I have to do anymore building I may struggle. I'm not a 'natural' at the old DIY I'm afraid :-)

And regarding a sign TMG....

If only. My neighbour has already been round  (before the hens had arrived) to inform me that poultry were not allowed (written in the deeds apparently and *he* was just forewarning me that some of the *other* neighbour's were already consulting solicitors! - Some people have way too much time on their hands, eh!). Having checked, it's complete rubbish.... But rather than rock the boat :-)

Anyway, rather amusingly, when I queried his fears, one of them was that he was worried about his cats...  . And another that it would encourage foxes (we live in a small 40 house estate surrounded on all four sides by farmers fields :-) ) I thought it was worthy of repeating anyway he he he

So maybe the sign is out. Darn it!

Hi Bob

Welcome to the Hen House :)

Can't work out why anyone would worry about their cats, one peck and they'll not go near them again

Where about's are you in the world? I used to live near Chelford :)

A good half hour trip over then  :)
That's the bit I hate the most of my trips home I always come off at Chester and do the Plumley, Seven Sisters route :)
I'm from nr Alderley Edge and in all the time I lived there never got to the market
I'd be there all the time now if I was nearer  ::)

It took us about 45 to an hour if I remember. The pre 9am traffic (thought we needed to be there early!) Not the greatest run in the morning!
