Can i plant?

savoy cabbage at this time of year? I have some seeds but no growing instructions... Thanks

Clay can be a very good soil, if you can get good drainage incorperated.
The only thing i found very poor on clay was carrots. Our clay here is very heavy and i eventually built raised beds.

I'm not a cabbage expert - but one book I've got lists savoy cabbage as a winter cabbage. It indicates that these are sown in early summer for harvesting at the back end of the year.

Based on this, I'd say it probably wouldn't work to sow the seeds now - but others may (will!) doubtless know a lot more!

I think now is the time for sowing spring cabbage.
I would say a bit late for savoy, I planted mine out many weeks ago.
