Pop Hole ladder

I guess this is a sort of try it and see question but just in case its not.

My pop hole access ladder is at roughly 30 degrees and a 4ft long takes up rather a lot of the run. Can I shorten the ladder thus increasing the angle to say 60 degrees or will the girls find the climb too much?

We don't have to have ladders to our pop holes, but the one that HF-W had in the original River Cottage series was about 20ft up and at quite a steep angle!!!!

Brian seems to think 60 may be a bit much, if it was at 45 degrees, how long would the ramp be then???

I think they can make it up a steep incline as long as there is sufficient grip but it might be more of a hop between each rung. It'll keep them fit !  :)

I saw those HFW ones. They were more like window cleaners ladders

Mines at about 45 degree's and they have no problems going up & down.

mmmm 45 degs really isnt going to free up that much space (another 6 inches or so) - I guess I'll have to extend the run     Who needs a patio anyway?! They look rather squashed with the ladder, feeder, drinker and dustbath in there.

Oh well its an excuse to play with the chop saw again
