enormous red slugs.
« on: September 09, 2008, 15:48 »
Finally got to the plot today and found these enormous red slugs everywhere. One was at least four inches long and 2 inches wide, thought it was going to eat me! :?
Shifted a loads of weeds and they were lurking under the foliage, found some plain black and black/ red ones to.

Googled and found this pic of one.

Now my question is what should i do about them? Shall i leave them to they own devices of should i kill them off.

Thanks for your help

i'm not usually one for killing things,  but if its eating my fruit and veg i make exceptions - the other thing i make exceptions for is wasps!

Not sure of the red ones are eating the veg yet as the part they in was full of weeds, i hate wasps we  had a nest year in the extension was an absolute nightmare.

They'd be great chicken food for my girls!

I hardly see any slugs now, few snails hanging about still.
