planted 2 m9 rootstock apple trees and 1 plum this year,would i be best taking fruit off before it grows this year to help the roots develop or just let it grow?

IMHO if they where bare rooted then yes take all the fruit off, if they where pot grown then you could leave a few on, fruit making takes up a lot of energy for a plant.
