lovely day on the plot, pics
« on: May 24, 2008, 19:05 »
Hi all,
I have had a great afternoon on the plot.  I have now got sore legs and back from hand weeding the onions and garlic but it's worth it, so I keep telling myself.  I took a few photo's while I was there because I can't believe how it's changed from when I started at the end of March.

My plot goes from just behind the shed to just behind where the brassica netting finishes.  Not a big plot but it's all mine  :D

Wow...  that looks great and very neat and tidy!
Well done you. :D

I'm amazed how many allotments don't have boundaries to each plot... it's nice to see them looking so open. Like one big veggie plot! :D
Ours are all in straight lines and everyone has a fence/boundary of some sort!

Very nice! :)  You haven't had a bbc crew there have you? ;) :D

Snap dragon, have you got rabbits on your site?
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

Thanks for the replys.
It's all my own work, with instructions from my dad.  I use to help him with the garden, shed building, chickens, ducks, sheep and whatever else was going on outside when I still lived at home (a few years ago now)  :)
I hate being in doors all the time.

Looks fantastic, you must have worked very hard to get it looking like that. Well done

There are three signs of old age. The first is your loss of memory, the other two I forget.

THAT IS AMAZING Sharon.   How I would LOVE a plot like that!  I admire your energy, just wish I had started growing food when I was younger.  Keep it up.   Does my heart good to see such good results. :D

Wow that's good work!  All that since March

It was really cold and windy here today so I didn't go plotting. Rest of the weekend looks windy and rainy too  :(

I'm not being funny but it does seem a north/south thing with fences round plots.  Ours are all open with just grass paths between them.  When I do venture north (and Anglesey is the furthest north I've been) I've noticed they all have fences round them.

Nah the allotments to the south of my village don't have fences but the ones at the north (where mine is) do.

It's a wabbit I tell you.
