Dwarf comfrey?

People talk about cutting it when it's a couple of feet tall, but mine barely gets over 1 foot. Have I got the wrong sort?
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

I did a reply but it disappeared into the ether  :?

I have two types of comfrey, one a whopper - Russian I think.  I have a few of the Bocking 14's which are more well behaved and they are lower growing but still bigger than the one you're describing.  The Bockings are recommended for lotties as apparently they're not rampant and won't come up all over the place. Can't vouch for it but that's what it says in the Organic Gardening Catalogue

Comfrey is right good stuff so get some divisions from your plants when you can, or buy some different, taller ones. You might be able to cadge some :D

There is dwarf comfrey, but not often found on allotments, it has creamy white flowers and trails a bit. Rather likely though, it's a young plant or something bothers it.
