Should have our greenhouse built by next weekend and I'll be after some tomato and chilli plants for it.

Can anyone recommend a decent variety of tomato and chilli to grow? And is it worth buying plants from online retailers or should I just buy them from garden centres etc?

I think it's too late for online retailers.

As far as toms go for normal sized ones you cant go far wrong with : Money maker,Alicante and Shirley and for cherry toms : Gardeners Delight,Sweet 10000,10000000 etc. :roll:

Chillis depends on how hot you want 'em,they'll all grow well in a green house.

Habanero will blow your head off though  :oops:

For chillies I like to grow Jalapenos- lovely pickled
Also Anheim for a milder one and cayenne for a bit of hot stuff :!:

Tomatoes- Sungold and Gardeners delight for small ones
Shirley and Ferline for bigger ones.
I am trying Brandywine and Pomodora for the first time this year as highly recommended in all the magazines.

I have got some yellow tomato (golden sunrise) seeds left and some chilli too (don't know what variety this is as it comes from the garden of my inlaws in Romania. Let me know if you want some. I am in London but posting would probably be easiest.

Anything interesting you could offer in return is of course welcome.
