Hi

Have just returned from my hols to find that the spring onions and broadbeans that I planted 2 weeks ago have not surfaced yet.

Has it been too cold to germinate these or perhaps sopping wet and they have gone rotten? If too cold then I will hang on another couple of weeks before resowing with new packets of seed.

I was away in the cold. Have been to Chamonix/Mont Blanc. Somehow the cold is nicer there though with the mountain air and snow. It was great to have a hot shower, then open the bathroom window and get a blast of icy air. Great veggies available really cheap too - florence fennel 40p a bulb mmmmm yummy.

Raced to the plot this morning expecting to see my crops peeping through the soil... but no sign  :roll:

They have only just come up. Went to plot a couple of days ago. Broad beans just poking through. Spring onions about an inch high.
