Thanks, I'll record both of these. I've been pineing for my allotment shows since the autumn, when the hard drive recorder ran out of space and went over the entire series of "allotment" and "grow your own veg"

Just wanted to say thanks for posting about this.  I hadn't seen it before didn't get to watch it Monday and only got to watch half of it last night but I really enjoyed it.  At last a gardening program that doesn't say "this is the way to..." but showed different ideas and left you wanting to know how things did.  I shall watch it again - but probably only half a program a time!

Terry Walton also published a book - Tales From A Hillside Allotment. My absolute favourite is still Digger's Diary by Victor Osborne (available in paperback). I defy you to read it and not be moved by the spirit and history of allotmenteering ...

I've ordered 'Digger's Diary' so I will let you know.
Wish we had Sky (sometimes) when these programmes are on. Hopefully my friend is recording it for me.

Never seen this show before and I'm hooked!

And for a change for a reality show, the characters are actually likeable
First timer, NOT enjoying the backache anymore!

Im still looking for a video of all the series of The Big Dig, only managed to record the last episode when it was on a year or so ago. Only get terrestrial channels so can`t see it on all those gardening channels etc.
Has anyone got an unwanted copy of the series, PLEASE? Naturally I will buy it off anyone if only I can get my mitts on a copy.
Sumo :D

A number of episodes (Digging For Victory) were on last night - it was on UKTV Gardens from 8p.m. until 12! I watched till 10.

Hats off to the 70 year old lady who built her own (excellent) shed from scratch, with no prior experience ...

Just found prog on called Grow your own veg which starts 17th March on uktv gardens. Will be watching that one too!!
 :D

That is definitely a good series to watch - I would highly recommend it.  Carol Klein sometimes goes over the top, but it shows passion.  The section on growing brassicas was very informative for anyone with clubroot problems on their plot.

My daughter has just walked in after shopping in town and bought me the book "Grow your own Veg" by Carol Klein reduced from £16.99 to £4.99 so looking forward to having a read. I like the present series thats now showing on Sky.  :)
I used to work in a helium gas factory, but I walked out, no one talks to me like that.

does anybody know if the grow your own series can be brought on DVD or Video?  I have been surfing the net to no avail.

The digging for victory series was good, am I the only one who thinks that Hanah Genders looks like Sandra Bullock, the actress?
