Veggies are in at last
« on: October 26, 2006, 08:59 »
Well the cool weather came (and so has the rain, loads of it, more like monsoon weather for almost a week) so in went the veggies.
Potatoes (from neighbour) onions (from neighbour) the onion seed I put in came to nothing, not even one! The lettuce are,  well, sad, but tehy might improve.  The turnip are getting big (shame I don´t like them!!, hubby does though) the carrots are sparce but growing. The neighbour took the rest of the seed and his are sprouting much better!
As for the oranges..... the mandarines are more onteh floor than on the tree, and they are bitter (made marmalade with some) the Persimmion ripened while we were visiting away fro 3 weeks so missed them.  Hopefully the rest of the oranges will stay on the tree and be ok to eat!
Can´t wait to get the peas in.  Forgot...... I have cabbage that is looking ok!
PAmela....... in a very wet Andalucia, 30 min east of Sevilla
BUt at least the well water is recovering ok!

She's obviously mad, leaving these grey skies and overcrowded lands for sunshine and a laid back lifestyle. :)

If your mandarins take ages to sweeten, is that why the ones I bought last week in Morrisons were so sour?  They'd been picked too early so that they would last the journey???
