Got a bulk bag of mushroom compost turning up at the plot tomorrow ... whoopee.
But the entrance has a bit of a kink so dunno if the lorry will be able to get in ...ov
If all goes well I'm really looking forward to spreading it abaht a bit.
My late uncle Peter had a tale about him muck spreading on a farm.  Reckoned he was so fast he had 3 forkfulls in the air at the same time.  At my age and decrepitude I'll manage 3 forkfulls one after the other, then a sit down

absolutely write candide I've just spread several loads of horse manure on one plot and it took me several days not as fast with the muck fork as I was twenty years ago you know  I think as one gets older the fork gets heavier but that mushroom compost that's the kiddie you should have some good results from that mushroom compost gardeners gold

Load arrived at 8.30 so I wasn't hanging round all day.  Driver a bit gloomy at first;  thought he'd been to the site before but couldn't get in as gates open inwards.  However gates open outwards ( changed maybe ) and he just squeezed thro.
Too cold on the hands so postponed any spreading till it gets above freezing

Even colder but had a play this morning at at 8am.  We've got 6 wee beds in total and intend to spread on three and a half.  Got one done plus chilblains.  The compost had got frozen solid around the outside but nudge with my knee and it became lumps.  Knocked off for bacon roll and tea.
I think I need to get rest done before rain as it will get heavier and then really freeze solid
