growing  spring cabbage we usually start our seed of in the greenhouse around July potting on and overwintering in the poly tunnel so I thought it would be a good idea  to ask those who grow spring cabbage how they grow there spring cabbage because there way mite be a better way than ours so say instead of overwintering in the poly tunnel would planting out on the plot to overwinter be a better way?

your comments on this topic would be most appreciated RW

Sow just before mid August, prick out into small modules once germinated,  plant out end of September or in october after other crops, cover with netting which protects them from the blooming pigeons and gives them a bit of respite from the wind, hope the slugs don't do them in then harvest about April time, sometimes before  just for the greens.

A small loose leaved spring cabbage plant should survive some extremely harsh winter weather, so should be OK  outside imo.
