Shallots
« on: August 26, 2016, 19:02 »
My shallots have been poor this year due to rabbits eating the green parts. I thought that they had failed completely but when lightly forking over the bed today I found some small shallots had managed to grow. They arnt really big enough for eating but could I dry them and use them as 'shallot sets' next year?
Taken over neglected veg garden at new home. Enemy number 1 Ground Elder. Then there is the furry terror - bunnies - to contend with!
Made a start have beds established but moved in too late for serious planting. We shall see what 2015 brings.
