Hi folks.
Back in November 2014 we purchased one of those buy 2 patio fruit trees & get one free
offers from the Daily Mirror so we got a red & green apple & a pear (Lilliput.) Last year only
the red tree produced any blossom & about 5 big apples at the base of the tree. This year
both apple trees are full of blossom from top to bottom, the pear tree is full of very healthy
leaves but no sign of any blossom. Any thoughts? All three are planted in very large tubs
which were topped up with new compost in March & kept on a sheltered patio next to each other.

Sounds like it's just growing away happily, with no need to fruit to ensure its survival! 

Traditionally apples do fruit sooner than pears, but with modern rootstocks that's not really a problem any longer. We got the in-laws one of those pear trees that is 3 varieties grafted on top of each other in a column, and it's fruited well every year.

My advice would be don't give it any more fresh compost, and don't feed it.  Also, take a look at how you water it, and maybe keep it a bit drier too. If it's watered every day in a very large tub it will put on a lot of growth.  The aim is to make it grow a bit less and fruit more.
