My red onions from sets, can't remember name, were pulled up a week ago and are now drying in my conservatory.
Some are really good size and only a few are smallish.
Best crop I have ever had in few years of having plot  :)
Haven't done anything different but that's how things go I suppose  ;)
On the other hand, this is the first year I have had a greenhouse and although I have tons of tomatoes, why are they taking so long to ripen?  :(

Quick off-topic reply - because most nights have been comparatively cool, I think :(

Had to lift a couple of mine for the pub onion comp yesterday, thought i was doing well with a trimmed* onion weighing 2lb 7oz until  other onions were weighed in at 3lb 6oz and the winning 3lb 7oz.

Still there's always next year !

* before trimming with full leaves and roots 3lb 7oz

I know. At least I have the pleasure of knowing that I have grown lots of tomatoes  :D
