Pea moth :(

If you can get them sown and harvested early early, you usually have little if any damage.

I can remember before frozen peas were available - and there were always some in shop-bought pods, as well  ;)

Yuck, we have it too, nearly enough to put me off peas for good.

You'll get used to it - occupational hazard!

Didn't get many this year as I sowed early and avoided the worst like wot mos said.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I got them bad last year so this year I wrapped them up, somehow they still managed to get in there but only a couple of the pods were affected. .. ..

Cover with mesh or fleece as soon as the first flower buds appear and keep it on until the pods have formed.

The pea moth lays its eggs on or near the flower buds. The maggots burrow into the developing pod and start to feed on the peas. Once the pods start to enlarge the caterpillars cannot burrow in.

Mange tout peas are also invaded but when you eat them the maggots are so small you do not notice them. Extra protien :D :D :D

You'd not eat anything if you stopped to think about bugs on everything  ::)

Indeed - unless you covered them in chemicals!
