Landscape fabric
« on: July 09, 2014, 10:31 »
Just brought some landscape fabric from B&Q this morning, going to remove all carpet and re-place with it then put woodchip on top.

Very expensive so hope it works, also got some copper tape, going to put it around drain pipe and plant my vine tomatoes inside the drain pipe

It does work :) You inevitably get the odd weed popping through as seeds drift onto the wood chip or birds drop them on there and the wood chip will probably need topping up on a yearly / 2 yearly basis but you'll be much better off with that than carpet!

Bit late now but I've used old tonne builders bags free from the builders merchant or skips.

I use a layer of damp newspaper instead of fabric, works exactly same and free.
