I have a row of young fruit trees along the fence, there is weed fabric down along the row and wood chip on top.
Can I just sprinkle bfb and woodash onto the woodchip for the rain to wash down or do I try to lift bits of the fabric and put it under it?

As plant nutrients are generally soluble to differing degrees, I don't see why you can't just sprinkle the feed on top. Is the woodchip new because, as it rots down, it uses up nitrogen, so you may need a nitrogen-rich feed like dried blood to make up for the loss.

I just sprinkle it on top and it does the job.

I sprinkle on my weed fabric where I grow strawberries, onions, marrows, sweetcorn etc.. and it all goes through.
