Amaryllis sucess!
« on: March 23, 2013, 08:50 »
You sure New Shoot   Yes I know I have posted frequently about my totally rubbish amaryllis growing skills and lack of flower, but look at this  :D

It has split into 2 growing points and both are flowering

You can guess my next question can't you   After flowering and drying out the bulb, do you think I can split it without killing both halves?  Tips and advice appreciated  :D

Once it is dormant you will be able to take them apart very easily.

That is a lovely display -- well done you  :D

Wow - looks good! ;) :D

I had an amaryllis years ago when we were in the flat - got a funny feeling we left it there??

Definitely leave it until it has gone dormant. It looks like it has a nice natural split already.
I used to leave mine to lie dormant on the top of a tall bookcase.
Thinking about it - couldn't have left it behind as we took the bookcase with us

Dunno what happened to it then!

No, not with my books! and have 700+ of them so no room!

I don't even remember it being in the flat when we left. ???
Lost a Jim Morrison poster and my Les Mis poster (from the Palace theatre where it was originally shown in London) - that made me cross, not having those! :D
