Hiya everyone
please can someone tell me where the best place to chit potatoes is?
We started them in the cold shed then realised they were getting damp so we brought them into the garage but they dont seem to be doing anything so we have now put them on the conservatory floor as my husband read on the internet yesterday to put them in the light but I thought this was wrong!
What do you think is best please?

the key words are "cool" and "light" - some people even put them on a north facing windowsill but mine do better on a west facing windowsill.  Chitting should be a slow process so don't expect much just yet - if it is too warm and too much light, the chits will turn to elongated sprouts that you don't want

They certainly do need light, or you will end up with long spindly chits.

There are a lot of recent threads on this subject, if you do a forum search on "chitting" you'll find some reading material!
