I've also got some still going (just) in unheated greenhouse.  I could probably nip round there now and pick a dozen good fruits; I'm shoosing to keep them there on the plant rather than in the fridge.

I think the knack may be in extending the growing season rather than starting them off out of season.

Exactly Sally A easier that way as you are growing into increasing light levels and warmth, I start mine off early Feb in a heated propagator.
