Tomato
« on: July 23, 2012, 20:06 »

Been to my allotment today, tomato plants look sick - in polytunnel and outside.

Leaves are quickly shriveling and going very crisp - anyone got any answers?

They were great looking plants.

Sounds like blight

Take all the fruit off that you can and bring it home and wash it to try to get all the blight off them

Cut down all the stems, bag them up and take to the tip

It is airborn, not something you did wrong and spreads in warm damp weather

I have had a false sense of security if you do have blight, there's none on the Blightmap, it's all been on the North Kent Coast so far  ::) oh well :(

I've just discovered blight on my spuds and I'm as far as you can get from any reported outbreaks. :(
