Yorkie, of course I'll abide by the rules of this site, however I do not believe that this product is illegal for amateurs to buy and use. Indeed I bought it freely at a local farming supplies shop as do other people I know in our neighbourhood

Thanks Alan and in fact I need to clarify something too.

On further inspection of the pesticides register there are 2 Gallup products.  One is for professional use only; the other is for amateur use too.  So there is room for some confusion.

However, given the context of your previous post - which said it was for professionals only, it was natural to assume that you were referring to the professional version.  It isn't lawful for anyone to use the professional version without the proper licensing - ie. an amateur.

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Probably my terminology is the problem Yorkie. When I said that Roundup is for the hobbyist gardener and Gallup is for the professional, I was making the distinction between occasional and serious gardening. The same sort of license used by manufacturers of power tools when their upmarket heavier duty product is frequently branded as professional.

Anyroadup as we say here, the real point is to understand what's in these products and then look for the unpromoted brand that's rarely found in the garden-centres or DIY sheds

Plot 74, I can tell you from personal experience that a blowtorch will not permanently kill docks
one method i have found to kill them is hot tea out of my flask. i had a couple growing at the base of my shed as i could not get in to dig them out i used the last cup full along with the tea bags and tipped it straight onto the plant it did take 2 or 3 goes but they have not come back.

 What tea bags do you use?!!!  Should your flask carry a health warning?  :D

You can use gallup 360 as long as it is on your own land . If you use it anywhere else or for profit the you will need a license. So unless you own your allotment it is a no no.
