since i started growing on my allotment two yrs ago iv'e had a problem with a plant called (chickweed) it grows everywhere, and very fast. Can anyone help me out with this problem.?

If the only weed you have to worry about is chickweed, then you are a lucky allotmenter

Eat it!  It goes very very well in soups

chickweed and speedwell, not realy a problem but anoying as the seem to grow at 3 times the speed of sound when your backs turned

Join the club and learn to live with it our whole site would be a chickweed carpet if we left it alone for a few weeks, the seeds are viable for 30+ years you'll never get rid.

Perennial weeds.   I can never net get rid of them all but if, if I can convince myself I am digging them out just a little bit faster they they can growing then I am "winning".

Bindweed, 5 years. 1-0 to me  (all gone)
Hairy Cress, 7 years.  2-1 to me, but match is in extra time
Dandelions -  1 all.
Moss in lawn - 7-0 to the moss

Dig the chickweed in, it's a green manure. doesn't do a lot, but helps with the quality of your soil.I used to keep budgies and they love the stuff,but you would have to keep a couple of thousand to keep your weed pile down.

How did you get rid of bindweed? I dig it out every year but it still seems to come back just as strong as the year before.
