I spy with my greedy little eye
« on: March 24, 2012, 16:27 »
You know its spring, when just as the winter fare is starting to look a bit sparse, the first of the early crops start coming good  :D

Anyone else spotted anything on their plot  :)

Don't know if you can count wild garlic, although I planted it. Its the first edible new growth showing. :)

Second pulling of rhubarb today - 18 sticks - that's 32 in total already!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I don't know. We acquired it with Mrs Digger's plot.

It hardly dies down fully over winter and is always the first on the site. Most of the others, mine included, are just showing leaf.

Don't give up hope yet. I thought I had done for mine, in a pot 'cos plot space not ready yet, not sign of life, and spotted it this morning poking its leaves out :)
Won't get any for a while and will have to share Ma's but thrilled that it isn't brown bread :)

We have salad and rocket ready now and half abed of leeks and spring onions.
Broad beans are a good size and the strawberries have colonised the garden like the bloomng triffids. All the runners all over and no idea which of the 4 varieties they are. Ho hum :nowink:
